At its core, TRC is about entrepreneurism.  For the most part, this is reflected via an approach intended to serve as a catalyst for a nimbler, ‘owner-centric’ approach to decision making in the conference rooms of our larger clients.  But TRC also stands ready to supports smaller, earlier stage ventures, leveraging the entrepreneurial experience and track record of the senior leadership team.

In 2012, the founder of TRC, Tim Romberger, co-founded and seed funded Cyteir Therapeutics, an early stage biotechnology company that is pioneering new therapies for patients battling a broad range of cancers and autoimmune disorders.  After three years of early development work and team building, Cyteir closed a $5.5M Series A that included Celgene as a major strategic investor.  Tim now sits on the Board of Directors and supports the current leadership team in the areas of strategy and business development.

In 2010, Mark Skoskiewicz, TRC Director, founded MyGuru, a provider of customized 1-1 tutoring and test prep that works with current and aspiring high school, college, and graduate school students through a team of expert independently contracted tutors. MyGuru’s focus is working with students to build core academic skills, a growth mindset, effective strategic planning and study habits, and time management skills to help them achieve superior academic performance. Mark also translated the MyGuru business model to athletic training, helping to found SportKonnect in 2015.

In 2012, Cyrus Patel, TRC Director, founded Scholar Partners and Mercury Procurement Partners, group purchasing organizations dedicated to supporting the needs of academic institutions and small businesses. The two organizations have helped clients save on office supplies, MRO, architecture, furniture and many more categories. Cyrus also is a founding and current Board member of the Bennett Day School, a for-profit school network.

TRC is open to supporting other early stage ventures where our capabilities and bandwidth overlap well with the needs of those teams.  Though the nature of these engagements will typically differ with that of our corporate clients, we don’t sacrifice the rigor, objectivity, and collaboration we bring to all of our work.
